5th Annual Golf For Cops Pro-Am

THE MCDAVID GROUP CHARITIES IS PROUD TO HOST THE 5TH ANNUAL GOLF FOR COPS CELEBRITY PRO-AM

In the Summer of 2016, five police officers were brutally executed in Dallas, Texas. As I sat in my truck listening to the radio commentary, it hit me like a ton of bricks. In that moment, I made the decision to throw my time and resources behind our men and women in blue. Through in-depth research, I discovered that there were very few charities that support law enforcement families, and the money raised was very small in comparison to other notable charities.

Everyday, our law enforcement officers wake up, say goodbye to their families, and head to work uncertain as to whether or not they will return home. They put everything on the line each time they clock in. Today, the risk is higher than ever. Yet, without complaining, these brave men and women put on a badge and protect our way of life. They are more than just police officers; they are husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, family and friends. When an officer loses their life, the effect on their family is catastrophic. There is emotional devastation to the family, not to mention the massive financial burden.

In its first four years, Golf for C.O.P.S. has generated over $1,230,000. Every dollar raised, outside the hard costs of the tournament, goes directly to the families of the fallen. We have no salaried associates at McDavid Group Charities. Everyone helps on a volunteer basis. Our PGA Tour Players and Sports  celebrities choose to participate due to their support of the cause. Everyone that participates does so out of their passion for law enforcement. This is a charity that everyone can sink their teeth into.

Golf for C.O.P.S. is currently supported by major donors such as Stitch, FootJoy, Wyndham Grand Hotels, Trump National Jupiter, and Tequesta Country Club to name a few. The stories are heart wrenching; this is our opportunity to give back and recognize the families left behind.
