In the summer of 2016, the devastating loss of five Dallas police officers had a profound impact on me as I listened to the unfolding events on my truck’s radio. That moment catalyzed my commitment to support our law enforcement community. My subsequent research revealed a huge gap in charitable support for the families of law enforcement officers. Compared to other notable causes, the funds raised to assist these families were remarkably limited.

Law enforcement officers start each day knowing it might be their last. They bid farewell to their loved ones and face uncertainties, yet they serve without hesitation to safeguard our communities. They are not only officers but also spouses, parents, and cherished friends. The loss of an officer brings immense emotional and financial hardship to their families.

On an annual basis, The McDavid Group Charities has hosted the Golf for COPS event, raising over $6 million in scholarships and support for bereaved families. This initiative reflects our collective admiration and respect for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
